you don’t have to read this.

You don’t have to be angry.
You don’t have to remain kind.
You don’t have to stay quiet.
You don’t have to speak your mind.
Line of Desire
(single post)
The man has his choice of open doors as he walks the familiar streets of his city. He knows what lies beyond each one. He wishes he didn’t.
The weight of choice is not something the man likes to confront, least of all alone on a Friday night. There is no one to please – no one to impress – no one to avoid. Just the man and his desires.
He doesn’t much like that word. It feels dirty to him. Desires. To use the word is to admit to need. No, it’s worse. A need is objective. The man does not control his needs. No one does.
The Man Who Must Not Move
(short collection)
It does not feel like a choice, the man thinks. The big ones never do. It’s like standing near a growing flame. Yes, he provided the spark, but that’s too late to change. The room around him is now doomed to burn. It is no longer “stay or go”, not as the heat builds and smoke fills the air.
It is move or die.
This Girl Does Not Survive
(short collection)
She picks up her phone again and scrolls. It’s only a few seconds. Back to the carpet it goes, but still in front of her face – just in case someone responds.
“I don’t even want to do anything on here,” she mutters. Her eyes drift out the window. They’re itchy and dry and they’re begging for a rest.
Maybe tomorrow.

(Intrusive Thought)
Sometimes, the only way I actually do things is if I spend money on them first.
That, and the first year was super cheap. If I’m still doing this after a year, I’ll be far happier with myself than I would be having saved $53.29.

Frequently Asked Questions
So, what is this book you’re writing?
It’s a young adult adventure story. I want it to be inspirational in a way. I think that part will be hard. Writing can be very hard.
Will we ever get to read it?
Dude, I really hope so.
What’s stopping you from finishing it?
Fear, mostly. I’ve been plodding along for two years, now. If I finish it and people aren’t moved by it, it will feel a waste.
That seems unhealthy.
Yes, it is.
Well, good luck.
Thanks! For all the negativity, I’m excited about what I’ve created so far. It just needs to be… better.
